7 Best Anti-Feministic Characters

Ever heard of the Bechdel Test. Well, anti-feminist may have pulled this one on you because it is a good point. A film has to pass this test by having 1. More than two female characters in it. And 2. Have to talk about something more than just men. Whether you are anti-feminist or hate the whole conversation does not matter. This video is a neutral zone where I will list off so-called anti-feminist characters that are actually cool in other way then just look sexy.

  1. Black Widow is so very obviously an anti-feminist character; look at when she first appeared in Iron-Man 2. In a wrestling ring, with the director himself infact. She becomes interesting from the fact that she can grapple leg lock Favaru to the ground. Later she also many scenes that can be up for debate on what she represents; female strength -- superhero -- or just the studio heads only appealing aspect to female audiences. Anyway you put it; Scarlet Johnson seems to pull in interesting portrayal of the special agent so much so that she may get her own movie soon. One strike for feminism. How about her flashback in Age of Ultron when they seem to have her being sterilized at a young age. In hopes that Bruce Banner won't want to be with her anymore.
  2. Well, what do you know another superhero movie, it’s like they built to be typical. Not only does Spider-Man have to rescue Mary Jane; she does not have her own story arch in the film. Her role in the film is for Peter to admire from afar, and her only affection for Spidey is from the multiple time he saves her. One of the most famous scenes is needless to say the last straw to whether the first Spidey movie is weirdly anti-feminist as it is a about a kid with superpowers.
  3. This one is gonna surprise you but Rey in Star Wars passes the test by the skin of her teeth, but still, at one point she is damsel in distress; be it she frees herself, but she is taken hostage with little or no effort from the bad guy. Apart from Leia from the original films -- she is the the only main female characters -- JJ Abrams also did the same thing with races in the film having a black, white and asian entourage. But it’s not look you care; you’ll like star wars if they tried killing Han Solo.
  4. The gorgeous Elizabeth Swan, although the sequels quickly half hazardously fixed this, she is the damsel for most of the film and the plot revolves around saving her countless times. Although she is smarter damsel then most the film is set on her being needed to be saved. Except for the pirates who just want to become human again so they can have their way with her.
  5. Listen, I understand the dilemma of falling in love with someone who won't remember you the next morning (well, as much as I can understand from watching the film anyway), but 50 First Dates had one of the creepiest, sexist endings to a film ever. The bottom line is that Lucy can't consent to having children with Henry if that consent only lasts 24 hours. I mean, seriously, how terrifying must those nine months have been?
  6. Fight Club is mainly just about the male libido and contending with man hood in a materialistic world so it’s no surprise Helena Bonham Carter’s character represents the only woman in Tyler’s and narrator's subjective view. So this one is not surprising and if anything done on purpose. The line"we are a generation of men raised by women" as if that's a bad thing should have been our first clue.
  7. Tony Stark -- the character in General although cool and playboy and plain misogynistic in general; the trait is integral to Downy's character -- so I’m willing to let this one slide if you girls are as I think Tony is the only thing keeping the Avengers from falling apart.
